With the rapid development in urban areas， the proper disposal of the domestic waste has become a major concern． The PPP project of comprehensive domestic waste treatment plant in Wangwenzhuang town has been focusing on this issue．

This project is constructed and operated by Everbright Environmental Energy （Tianjin） Co．， Ltd．， and is their first municipal environmental protection industrial park project．

The project is constructed in two phases． Phase I was put into operation on Dec 22， 2020， with a total investment of 2．2 billion yuan （about ＄320 million） and an area of 544 mu． With the internationally advanced equipment and processes， 2，250 tons of domestic waste per day and about 900，000 tons of waste per year can be managed． The project is expected to provide about 400 million kilowatt hours of green power per year．

As of Mar 5， 2023， a total of 1，541，759．08 tons of domestic waste were processed， including 1，013，987．83 tons of domestic waste in Xiqing district， with a cumulative power generation capacity of 642．85 million kWh．

When domestic waste is transported to a treatment plant， it will be filtered out in water， which， after being strictly purified again by the leachate treatment system， can meet the national level A water discharge standard． Then， these water resources will be used for water replenishment in the plant equipment and process systems to realize recycling． After that， the waste will enter the incinerator for combustion， transferring heat to the boiler and transforming the water in the boiler into steam， in a bid to drive the steam turbine generator unit to convert into electrical energy． At last， the generated slag will be cooled， recycled， and sorted to become building raw materials such as sidewalk floor tiles， pavement underlays， and concrete aggregates． The entire process is clean and efficient．

Based on the idea of＂lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets＂， Everbright Environmental Energy has actively strived to complete the national AAA standard waste power plant． In May 2022， the Ecological Environment Bureau of Xiqing district awarded the project＂Xiqing Environmental Education Demonstration Base．” On June 2nd of the same year， Tianjin Municipal Ecological and Environmental Bureau named the project＂Tianjin Environmental Education Demonstration Base＂．

In the future， this project will be built into a domestic first－class comprehensive treatment demonstration plant of ecological industry， which can manage various types of waste treatment in a＂one－stop＂ manner． The maximum daily domestic waste treatment capacity is expected to be 2，250 tons．
